Engagement Manager

Matt Ray joined Galapagos as an engagement manager in 2024 with a decade of in-house marketing experience across higher education, K-12 consulting, residential programming, and EdTech. His passion lies in building brands that differentiate value and spark pride across the spectrum of stakeholders.

After graduating from Hope College with a bachelor’s degree in education, Matt spent 7 years teaching social studies and coaching swimming. After leaving teaching, he jumped head-first into education marketing finding success with record-setting enrollment and fundraising campaigns, exponential brand awareness growth, and streamlined processes to boost conversions. Constantly leading with an “I wonder” mentality, Matt strives to challenge the status quo to help brands (and the people who care about them most) realize their full potential.

When Matt’s not playing with the latest marketing tools and tech he’s probably working on his golf game, testing the limits of what can be cooked on a smoker, or crashing on a mountain bike trail somewhere.
